Restore America – As of Sunday, it’s been 53 years since Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered the speech that’s been echoing in the back of your mind for as long as you can remember – that phrase we’ve heard almost as many times as we’ve heard “they’re bringing drugs, they’re bringing crime”:

“I have a dream.”

That anniversary has come around at a time when life is better for American minorities than ever, legally and culturally speaking, and yet racial dissatisfaction is greater than it’s been since the days of MLK himself.

Why would this be?

Well, there is only one answer, and it is the Democratic Party.

For five decades, the Democratic Party has earned itself a place of honor among African Americans, and when you step back and look at it, you can appreciate the clever – if devious – illusion they’ve created. They are that friend who always seems to be there when things go tragically awry.

It takes a lot of unmasking to see the insidious implications of that.

By any objective standard, the dangerous racism of America’s past is no longer a relevant national issue. No one’s pretending that it doesn’t exist, but the demon that gave us slavery and Jim Crow has been exorcised.

But see, Democrats can’t win elections in that kind of an environment.

Therefore, in the absence of the thing we all agreed to call “racism” for many years, Democrats had to invent new forms of racism, new lenses through which to define oppression, and new versions of the historical record that would keep modern blacks clinging to the ghost of a long-vanquished demon.

These are, of course, meant to distract black voters from the only real form of oppression they have to worry about: that which is coming from the state. As Democrats open up the public coffers with one hand, they are enslaving generations of black families with the other. Dependency and freedom cannot coexist.

“There’s just one reason why the stakes in this election are unlike any we have faced before,” said Hillary Clinton in a statement Saturday. “Those brave men and women who marched, and sat, and bled for civil rights in America must not have done so in vain.”

Even in the devil’s lies, there is truth.
