Almost 30 million Americans have already cast their votes for President, queuing for hours at early polling stations across the country. Although too soon to tell which way the vote is swinging, Barack Obama and Mitt Romney are locked together according to most polls. But lost in the rivalry between Republican and Democrat, are the alternatives that many Americans have longed for.

Aren’t we assured the right to vote?
Yes. That is why the elections cannot be tampered with. By anyone. For any reason. G
With another storm hinting at visiting the East coast, why haven’t the elections been postponed? I realize it costs a bunch of money and man hours to setup and run the elections. How about we let all the cities vote who can do so easily and effortlessly and then put the votes on hold until the cities that can’t easily setup and run an election can? The first priority for the cities affected by Sandy should be to get their space in a liveable condition and make sure everyone has food, water, shelter, heat….the necessities of life. No one should fret about being able to vote.
American elections have NEVER been postponed – not even during the Civil War. There are laws on the books precluding the shifting around of the date selected for elections every 4 years.
Excluding the enormous expense of moving around the elections, I’m not entirely sure why 315+ million Americans must have the elections altered simply because 4+ million are likely unable to vote. 4+ million represents less than 0.0133% of the American voting public. Cheers G
