Monsanto, Factory Farms, Climate Change and You

CookOrganicMonsanto loves to claim that its GMO crops are needed to feed the world.

But what the Gene Giants don’t want you to remember is that the chemicals they sully our food, soil, air and water with were originally developed to make bombs.

When the Big War ended, in order to keep the profits rolling in, Monsanto convinced farmers that the only way to grow food is Monsanto’s way—with GMO crops, and millions of tons of toxic chemicals.

Fast-forward to today, and the impact of Monsanto’s GMO crops can be measured in terms of degraded soil, nutrient-deficient foods, billions of sick animals on factory farms, an increasingly obese and chronically ill human population and, last but surely not least, global warming. Continue reading

76% Of Seed Market Is Patented By Corporations: Save The Seeds!

“Prior to this big business takeover of farming, people worked the land, saving seeds from year to year. They carried varieties from their ancestors into modern times through these seed saving practices. For many, the practice is alive and well. For others, it needs to be rekindled.” ~E. Renter

SeedsControlBy6CorpsOver 90% of the crop varieties grown a century ago are no longer used in this country; many aren’t even maintained in seed storage facilities. In addition to that, just 6 companies in the world have patented most of the seeds grown in the entire global agricultural market. Our food diversity is crumbling and it’s largely because corporations, not people, are in charge of the supply. But saving seeds in your vegetable garden or on your small family farm could potentially sustain the current diversity and slow or even reverse the degradation of our food supply.

Natural Society’s own Christina Sarich recently reported for Nation of Change how corporations own the seeds. These companies, like Monsanto, Dupont, Dow, and Bayer, have helped to whittle away at the heritage of global food, all in an effort to maximize profits. (Also, here are the top 10 companies ruining the natural world with pesticides – companies which also own the seeds).

“The very act of trying to patent seeds developed over thousands of years, if not millennia, has created a devil’s lair,” reports Sarich. “Plant GMO seed that is ‘herbicide resistant,’ watch it fail, even though millions of tons of glyphosate based toxins were sprayed on crops, then create yet another batch of toxic chemicals to try to control the new super weeds created by corporate greed.”

Genetically Modified Organisms: Killing The Natural World

Part 3:  Killing off insects in the web of life

cartoon_gmoThe introduction of genetically modified foods (GMO) tampers with the essence of life in an experiment with an unknown outcome and no real way to undue the damage. The FDA purposely does not require labeling of GMO food, since no one who understands the issue would ever purchase it. This makes it all the more difficult to locate healthful food.”  Byron J. Richards, The Leptin Diet: How Fit Is Your Fat?

This series exposes the outright fraud against peoples’ lives and the contempt for American citizens (and citizens of the world who eat our grains) with the injection of Genetically Modified Organism foods by the highest representatives in our U.S. Congress.

Call it a “financial cartel” that allows GMOs to be fed to our citizenry, but worse, for the love of money, those power elites accelerate the destruction of our Natural World.

We humans grow too clever and too arrogant to understand the long-term penalties we heap on Mother Nature until she finds no other answers but to claw back at us, i.e., cancers, disease and more aberrant environmental disasters to come.

Every crop in America, Canada, Australia and much of the third world where GMO advocates like ADM and Monsanto can force their “Frankensteinization” on farmers—they push it.

Even with all the evidence piling up, those same elites hammer any opposition into the ground.  They “bribe” the FDA officials to not label any GMO foods so you don’t know what you’re eating.

We destroy our own bodies by our actions, but we also obliterate the Natural World and its inhabitants.

Today around the world, trillions of bees suffer “colony collapse” via GMO crops.  Nature cannot figure out how to deal with plants that suffer genetic modification or DNA change-ups.

FOOD – A Revealing Look At The Sourcing Of Our Modern Food Supply

mercola.com  January 11 2014

“Food” is a 30-minute documentary that investigates how demand for more and cheaper food has dramatically altered the entire food chain. Today, food production revolves around efficiency—the ability to produce more for less. The ramifications of this mindset are wide-ranging and far-reaching…

As KPBS’ Joanne Faryon reports, “the food chain no longer looks like it used to.” Fish no longer eat other fish, and cattle eat very little grass, which is their natural food source. Instead, cattle eat corn, chickens eat corn and fish, and fish eat cows and poultry… Similarly, fresh produce like fruits and vegetables are primarily sold to foreign markets.

California oranges, for example, are exported to far flung places like Japan, while Americans eat oranges from Australia—presumably because Americans prefer the deeper orange color of Australian oranges, and the fact that they’re easier to peel. As a result, the carbon footprint of most foods sold in your local grocery store is massive, having made its way thousands of miles from where it was grown.
