Embrace Love: The Antidote to Judgment and Conflict

Embrace Love: The Antidote to Judgment and ConflictJohn Smallman – What you see in the world around you right now are major indications of your collective awakening. The disclosure of massive deceit, conflict, and corruption on a global scale is making it impossible for anyone to remain unaware of the need for enormous changes in the way in which you interact with one another, both with your immediate families and friends right up to and including in international relationships.

Enormous change in human relationships is needed everywhere, and more and more of you are becoming increasingly aware of this. The only way in which you can resolve issues, whether between individuals or between nations, is by meeting with those involved in a respectful manner and by listening, without instant judgement, to what they need and wish to express. The Richness Of Each Moment

The Angels – During a given day, you have thousands of moments in which you can appreciate life’s simple pleasures. In a single second or at a single glance, you have countless things to focus on.

Suppose you are drinking coffee with a friend. In a single second, you might appreciate the aroma of your beverage, evoking feelings of warmth or well-being. You could look deep into your friend’s eyes and notice their concern, evoking feelings of compassion. You might see the logo on your cup for the first time, evoking a sense of appreciation, curiosity, and wonder within you.

Change the Lens Through Which You View the World

lensEvita Ochel – One of my favorite pieces of wisdom to live by is that our life is a reflection of the perspective we hold about it. When you look at the current state of your life, what does it reflect? What does it reflect about who you are and how you see yourself? Your relationships? Your work? Your hobbies? Your life purpose? Is your life a sequence of extraordinary moments strung together to make a richly diverse tapestry, or a mundane ordinary paint stroke on a bleak canvas day after day?

Are the majority of your hours of each day joy-filled? Do you most often feel great, blissful and satisfied? Is there awe, wonder and excitement in how you live? Or is there a monotonous, frustrating, pessimistic, or lifeless and perhaps even angry or cynical pattern to your life? Continue reading

If You Live From Your Heart, It’s Good for Your Heart

“If you live from your heart, it’s good for your heart!”

If You Live From Your Heart, It’s Good for Your HeartDavid R. Hamilton Ph.D. – It’s quite a well-known saying in the village I grew up in, in the Forth Valley of central Scotland. I’ve heard my Mum say it a few times.

I think most of us have had the experience that kindness feels good. Some people get a nice, warm feeling in their chest when they help someone. But kindness does more than this. It has an actual physical impact on the heart.

There are studies that compare soft attitudes and behaviors, like empathy, kindness, compassion, gentleness, against harder attitudes like hostility and aggression. These studies find that softer behaviors help maintain a healthy heart. Hostility and aggression, on the other hand, are associated with cardiovascular disease. Continue reading

The Art of Appreciation

The Art of AppreciationAre you the kind of person who takes things for granted? Do you tend to overlook the simple joys in life? Or are you someone who appreciates every little thing that comes your way? The answer to these questions can reveal a lot about your outlook on life. If you fall into the latter category, it’s probably because you understand that there is beauty in the small things, and your eyes are wide open.

The “small things” are not that small

If you can’t appreciate the small things, you’ll miss out on many moments in life that are essential to your happiness. The small things are what make up your daily life. They are the moments that define your experiences and make you who you are as a person. Without them, you may feel like you aren’t getting anything out of life. Continue reading
