Can We Please Have Something Normal?

trumpClarice Feldman – As is often the case, Tom Maguire speaks what many of us are thinking. This week, following the Democratic debates and a poll indicating that only 25% of Democrats want a  “bold, new agenda” he tweeted:

“Per this poll, this is not a ‘Time For A Change’ election; It’s a ‘Can We Please Catch Our Breath And Have Something Like Normal For Five Minutes, Please, I’m Begging Now’ election.

But Dems, transfixed by the Twitterati, aren’t listening. Too bad.”

Baltimore murder rate worse than Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala [Video]

BaltimoreThe Baltimore murder rate is higher than the three Central American nations driving the border surge by migrants seeking to flee crime and murder back home.

In an analysis of the murder rates done after President Trump criticized Baltimore Rep. Elijah Cummings over the weekend, Baltimore’s was reported at 56 per 100,000. The city is on track for 340 murders. Continue reading

Trump is absolutely right about ‘con man’ Al Sharpton

Bob McManus – Once upon a time, when I was editing this newspaper’s opinion pages, somebody decided that it wouldn’t hurt to have a slightly more cordial relationship with the Rev. Al ­Sharpton.

So there we were, in a Manhattan steakhouse, discussing not much because it quickly had become clear that Sharpton enjoyed being New York’s premier racial grievance-monger, so there was no common ground to be had.

But he did show a flicker of interest in a $350 cognac on the after-dinner menu — glancing over with amusement in his eyes as the waiter hovered. “If you do, reverend,” I said, “I’m asking for separate checks.” Continue reading
