In fact — and again, in spite of what many in the media would have us believe — by many accounts, mass shootings are not even on the rise. Definitions of what constitutes a “mass shooting” vary, but using “standard definitions,” a recent piece in The Conversation — an academic and research journal — declares that “Mass shootings aren’t growing more common.”

‘It’s our cultural fault’: Mike Huckabee pinpoints spiritual crisis behind mass shootings

mass shootingsJim Hayek – Mike Huckabee claimed during a Monday night interview with Martha MacCallum that the reasons behind the nation’s mass shootings are ultimately spiritual.

Following an interview with Warren Farrell, whose book The Dad Deficit explains the negative social effects of absentee fathers, MacCallum introduced the former Arkansas governor by asking her audience to consider the fallout of collapsing “mediating institutions” such as “churches, rotary clubs, Girl and Boy Scouts.”

Huckabee agreed that such stabilizing institutions are indeed “going extinct,” for which reason “kids are not growing up.” He reiterated Farrell’s assessment that the collapse of the family has been culturally catastrophic. Continue reading →

Largest push for gun control in American history just so happens to coincide at a time when there are more mass shootings than ever before in American history. What are the odds?

We live in a world of short-term memories and long-term memory deficiencies. If the 24-hour news cycle was any indication, Americans appear to be bouncing from one catastrophic mass shooting to the next, with hardly any breathing room. Like this is just a regular occurrence America has learned to endure because… guns. It’s the prevalence of firearms in the hands of the people, the anti-gunners say.
