NYT Calls Aleppo’s Liberation “Chaos and Desperation”

terroristsStephen Lendman – The Times supports all US wars of aggression, suppressing its responsibility for genocidal mass slaughter – proving America represents unparalleled pure evil, humanity’s greatest threat.

The Times is a lying machine, supporting what demands condemnation, along with all other media scoundrels, substituting rubbish for real news, information and analysis.

For the first time in over four years, tens of thousands of Aleppo residents are now free from captivity as human shields by US-supported terrorists – no longer fearing their brutality.

The Times disgracefully lied, claiming “hundreds…are missing, citing fabricated accounts of “arrests” and “summary killings,” by government forces, adding:

Some residents “said rebels (sic) had helped them cross the front lines or warned them not to go at certain times or in certain places because of the danger.”

“As government forces continued to advance on Friday, panic was growing among those still trapped inside, who either could not make their way out or were afraid to enter government territory…(O)thers have moved deeper into the rebel-held district under intense bombardment.”

What utter rubbish! Thousands of Eastern Aleppo residents are now free from captivity. Safe in government controlled areas, they expressed gratitude to their liberators, thankful to be alive.

The Unbearable Smugness of the Main Stream Media

Mark Patricks – Of all the press coverage of the recent presidential race, perhaps none was more egregiously one-sided than that of The New York Times.

The famous “Gray Lady” of newspapers is widely hailed as one of journalism’s best-known standard bearers. But in the race between Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Hillary Clinton, the paper gave up all pretensions of journalistic integrity and objectivity as it bent over backwards to not only present the Democrats’ case in the best light but to actually become the Clinton campaign’s surrogate mouthpiece, particularly in the latter stages of the contest.

Even early on, the paper clearly had a different tone and imbalanced coverage that favored Clinton over her primary rival Bernie Sanders, who was drawing far larger crowds than the former Secretary of State. But among the Establishment crowd, Clinton had long been the odds-on favorite not only to win the primaries but to dominate the general election itself, no matter who the Republican nominee turned out to be.

Although the paper has long been an elite liberal voice, favoring Democrats over Republicans for decades in terms of its endorsements and editorials, the journal’s undisguised contempt for Donald Trump stretches back more than 35 years.

To his credit, Trump also has had a longstanding disrespect for the New York broadsheet, blasting the paper’s criticism of his various civic projects and real estate developments around the city.

Major media build a universe for Hillary

Jon Rappoport – The other day I wandered over to the New York Times to see what their front page looked like.

My, my. It was another universe.

Instead, in this alternate NY Times universe, Trump’s campaign was falling apart. He was singlehandedly destroying the Republican Party and endangering upcoming Senate and House races. Hillary’s poll numbers were in good shape and her campaign was moving in the direction of an expected victory. And to top it off, one of the Times’ potato-head columnists burped out an op-ed about Trump’s “sad, lonely world.”

Beautiful. Just beautiful.

After I recovered, my first thought was: The Times is running cover for a vote-rig on election night: “As expected, Hillary Clinton cruised to an easy victory, sweeping nearly 30 states…”

NYT Reinvents Reality in Aleppo

syrianStephen Lendman – Liberating Syria from the scourge of US-supported terrorists requires winning the battle for Aleppo, a vital strategic prize.

Washington is concerned because it’s incrementally happening, Syrian forces retaking parts of the city long held by US-backed terrorists – Russian aerial support making the difference, essential to continue without letup until the entire city and surrounding areas are free from its terrorist infestation.

The campaign deserves universal support. Syria’s future depends on its success – why Washington arrogantly threatens to cease (largely nonexistent) cooperation with Russia unless it halts bombing Aleppo areas held by US-backed terrorists.

The latest edition of Times Pentagon press release propaganda misrepresented what’s going on, publishing pure rubbish no legitimate editors would touch, saying:

Russian and Syrian forces “could be massacring Aleppo’s civilians as part of a calculated strategy, aimed beyond this one city.”

“The strategy, more about politics than advancing the battle lines, appears to be designed to pressure rebels to ally themselves with extremists, eroding the rebels’ legitimacy; give Russia veto power over any high-level diplomacy; and exhaust Syrian civilians who might otherwise support the opposition.”

Fact: US-supported terrorists, along with Pentagon and so-called coalition warplanes alone massacre defenseless civilians unaccountably – The Times wrongfully blaming their high crimes on Russian and Syrian forces.

Fact: Moscow’s alliance with Damascus is unrelated to politics. It’s entirely about defeating the scourge of US-backed terrorism in Syria, preventing its spread to Russia’s heartland.

Fact: The term “rebel” is code language for US-supported terrorists. No moderates exist. All anti-government forces are cutthroat killers, imported death squads serving as imperial foot soldiers.

Manipulating the American Mind

Stephen Lendman – In today’s information age, so different from my early years and young adulthood, it’s simple to stay well informed.

Yet too few people bother, relying instead on media propaganda, especially so-called television “news,” brainwashing them, assuring they’re good citizens and stay that way, suppressing what everyone most needs to know.

My own brother believes The New York Times and other media like it are reliable sources of news, information and opinion. I haven’t convinced him otherwise, nor gotten him to follow my writing – done pro bono. No one directs what I say or pays me a dime.

media

It’s my way late in life to give back for blessings afforded to too few others – especially in America, once a land of opportunity when I grew up, now serving its privileged few alone, most others left out entirely, facing unemployment, underemployment, poverty and for too many appalling human misery.

As long as most people believe what authorities tell them, willful deception promoting their agenda, blotting out disturbing truths, maintaining the myth of America the beautiful, the indispensable nation, the exceptional one, then endless wars of aggression will continue, along with neoliberal harshness and police state control.
