The GOP Death Wish

The GOP Death WishBrian C. Joondeph – The GOP, as a political organization, stands for “Grand Old Party.” How does it live up to its name?

It’s hardly grand, instead it is a circular firing squad of squabbling principles and interests, with many GOPers sitting on their high horses arguing about government’s role, fiscal policy, or candidates’ temperaments. As for old, much of the elected GOP is young, although Senate Majority Mitch McConnell is 81 years old.

The current GOP now stands for “gladly out of power” as elected Republicans are doing everything they can to commit political suicide, becoming a permanent minority in national, and in many cases state and local, politics. Continue reading

Trump Is Leader of Republican Party… and America

Matt Kane – As the next presidential election approaches, the leader of the Republican Party, and America, is Donald Trump.

In 2015, the Republican Party was dead.  There was no clear leader and little enthusiasm even as the end of Barack Obama’s presidency was on the horizon.  Republicans suffered convincing losses in the two previous presidential elections, and a Bush versus Clinton rematch reincarnate was plausible for a time.  The party’s 2014 midterm election gains were more of a referendum on Barack Obama than an endorsement of the Republican Party.  But the key reason those scenarios were short-lived was because of Donald Trump. GOP: Lead, Follow, or Get Out of the Way!

Hispanic Republicans take center stage

Democrat gaffes continueAaron Kliegman – As prominent Democrats are making high-profile and untimely gaffes alienating segments of the Hispanic-American community, potential rising Republican stars of Hispanic descent are claiming the political spotlight heading into the midterm elections.

This juxtaposition of Democratic flubs and Republican gains comes as polling indicates Hispanic voters disapprove of Democrat leadership and could be shifting toward the GOP in a major way. Continue reading

Ignorance, Fear, and LGBTQ

LGBTQLloyd Marcus – Mary and I met with several black relatives for dinner at a restaurant in Baltimore. The jovial conversation drifted to politics. I was stunned that they know nothing about several important political issues. Because they only watch mainstream media, my relatives are either misinformed or uninformed.

For example,, my relatives have never heard of Sharia Law. When I explained the tyranny of Sharia and how leftists are promoting it in America, my relatives were shocked. Overwhelmed, a relative said, “I’ve heard enough. Can we change the subject?”

The second thing that disturbed me was my relatives’ intense fear of pushing back against LGBTQ indoctrination that is impacting their lives. As I said, these are not political people. And yet, they know they had better not get caught opposing LGBTQ activists forcefully infiltrating every aspect of our lives; from public education to entertainment to Sunday morning worship.
