Testing Reveals Post Shredded Wheat Cereal Contains Monsanto’s Glyphosate

wheatFinland, Minn. –  The Organic Consumers Association (OCA) today filed suit against Post Holdings, Inc. and its wholly owned subsidiary, Post Foods, LLC, for falsely claiming one of its brands, Shredded Wheat, is “natural” even though it tests positive for the herbicide glyphosate.

The suit, filed on behalf of the general public of Washington, D.C., claims Post is violating the District of Columbia Consumer Protection Procedures Act (“DC CPPA”), D.C. Code § 28-3901, et seq. Similar actions were filed in federal court in California and New York.

“On the back of its cereal box, Post says Shredded Wheat is made of ‘100% Whole Grain Wheat’ and that the product is ‘made with nothing but goodness,’” said OCA’s international director, Ronnie Cummins. “But tests prove Shredded Wheat contains glyphosate, the active ingredient in Monsanto’s Roundup. Glyphosate is not only very unnatural, it is a known toxin,linked to a long list of potential and serious health problems.”

Kim Richman of The Richman Law Group, which represents OCA in the suit, noted that “Consumers don’t expect a product labeled ‘natural’ to contain a chemical that has been classified by the World Health Organization as a ‘probable’ human carcinogen. Post advertises Shredded Wheat as ‘100 Percent Natural,’ and glyphosate in any amount is not natural,” Richman said.

The Old Farmer vs. God

He said to God in his morning prayer, “I have to tell it as it is — enough is enough! You don’t understand even the ABC of agriculture! When the rains are needed there are no rains; when the rains are not needed you go on pouring them. What nonsense is this? If you don’t understand agriculture you can ask me — I have devoted my whole life to it. Give me one chance: the coming season, let ME decide and see what happens.”

It is an ancient story. In those days people had such trust that they could talk directly to God, and their trust was such that the answer was bound to happen. God said, “Okay, this season you decide!”

So the farmer decided, and he was very happy because whenever he wanted sun there was sun, whenever he wanted rain there was rain, whenever he wanted clouds there were clouds. And he avoided all dangers, all the dangers that could become destructive to his crops; he simply rejected them — no strong winds, no possibility of any destruction to his crops. And his wheat started growing higher than anybody had ever seen; it was going above man’s height. And he was very happy. He thought, “Now I will show him!”

When Worlds Divide

This question of a coming divergent world, a just one that separates in some way from the wicked one we’re currently embroiled in, has been with us for some time. We are watching parallel phenomena of violent, threatening darkness pounding at our doorstep while a simultaneous absolutely awe-inspiring and empowering awakening is taking place around the globe. These are being contrasted before our hearts and minds as we each deal with these incoming realities at many levels.

As we know, they cannot contain our awakening no matter what draconian measures they try.

The dark Powers that have cleverly slipped into place can kill, maim and destroy to their wicked hearts’ content but it doesn’t do a thing. That glorious fact is a reality that has been carefully kept “behind the veil” of mass human awareness for eons, even though every living soul senses otherwise. Awake and aware consciousness and those daring to live there have known this all along.

What we call bravery in the face of their onslaughts is this very simple understanding. It’s a knowledge and conviction that we are eternal and indestructible and have a firm grip on the reality that the Truth for which we live is unshakeable. Living by that simple steadfast knowledge and proactively helping to manifest it in others is called being alive.

That’s the definition of true freedom.

I’m not a fatalist in the sense that everything is predetermined. That is purely a programmed shut down mechanism to the degree anyone adopts that mental paralysis. Complicated, arrogant, philosophical gobbledygook such as that has been the stifling academic controlling answer for all of the non-already-religiously-programmed subjects.

As I’ve reported before, it’s not just some new food fad; gluten is actually making people all kinds of sick and slowly killing others.

Wheat, a major source of gluten, also happens to be the the number two food subsidized by our government; it’s grown all over the place and put into a large majority of our foods. Studies have shown that back in the 1950s, one in around 5,000 people might have a severe and potentially deadly allergy to gluten known as Celiac’s Disease; now it’s more like a staggering one in 133.

In short, in 60 years, here’s what Celiac Disease figures look like by the decade in America:

1950s: 1 in 5,000
2010s: 1 in 133

Gluten Confirmed To Cause Serious Weight Gain, Or ‘Wheat Belly’

BakingThe case against gluten seems to have been closed with recent research from a Brazilian research team that published a report in the January 2013 Journal of Nutritional Biochemistry. It seems to have put an exclamation point on the wheat belly controversy.

Lacking scientific data confirming the mechanics of how gluten may or may not affect obesity, the study was set up to examine the differences in specific genetic and biochemical markers between rats fed gluten and rats that were kept gluten free.

The “wheat belly” syndrome and how it leads to other health issues was the purpose of their research. The research team chose biological markers that could indicate the onset of obesity and metabolic syndrome, precursors to diabetes and cardiac issues.

Both groups of rats were fed high fat diets. But one group was gluten free and the other group’s diet was 4.5 percent gluten. Even without tracing their predetermined markers, it was obvious the gluten free mice exhibited weight loss without any trace of lipid (fat) excretion.
