Brexit is the Match that Ignites the Powder Keg

SchiffGreg Hunter – Money manager Peter Schiff says don’t believe the so-called “Brexit” was the real cause of the recent chaos in the financial markets. Schiff explains, “If the global financial system and the markets were healthy, ‘Brexit’ would be a non-event.  I mean what difference does it make in the scheme of things if the UK is not part of the EU?

In a healthy economy, it would just shrug it off, but because we have anything else but a healthy financial system, it’s all a gigantic bubble.  It’s a house of cards.  That’s how fragile it is, and it’s all propped up with cheap money, negative interest rates and quantitative easing.  Everybody is confident that the central banks and politicians can keep these bubbles in the air that they are juggling.  Now, all of a sudden, something goes wrong that they didn’t expect.  It shows that the government is losing control, and this is the wake-up call.  This is what has everybody so scared. This is the match that ignites the powder keg, but the powder keg was there all along.”

So is the Fed going to start more easy money and printing money because of the current financial chaos? Schiff says, “It may be the excuse because they were going to do it anyway.  The market is now pricing in a higher probability of a rate cut than a rate hike, but I said that back in December.

AG Loretta Lynch Has Meeting With Bill Clinton on Government Airplane And Says They Talked About Their Grandchildren

lynch

So the Attorney General of the United States just happened to run into the former president of the United States who just so happens to be married to a woman running for president, who just happens to be under federal investigation and they just happened to have a 30 minute meeting aboard a government owned airplane and we’re to believe that all they talked about was their grandchildren?

If you believe that, there’s a bridge in Brooklyn you may want to consider buying.

The Daily Caller reports:

Why Did Bill Clinton And Loretta Lynch Meet On Her Airplane In Phoenix This Week?

Attorney General Loretta Lynch met with former President Bill Clinton for a half-hour on her government airplane at the Phoenix airport on Tuesday, an Arizona news station is reporting.

Iceland Proves You Don’t Need a Politician or Businessman as President

Alex Pietrowski – With admiration, many have been observing Iceland’s handling of the banking crisis that jolted the entire world in recent years. Now experiencing a unique economic recovery, the Icelandic public became aware in 2008 that the nation’s private banks had borrowed some $120 billion dollars, ten times the size of Iceland’s economy, creating an economic bubble which forced housing prices to double, and saddled the nation’s people with debt.

While other Western nations initiated bank bailouts in 2008, a popular uprising in Iceland led to a peaceful revolution against corrupt government and banks, and has since become the example for the global movement for liberation from central banking and unaccountable government.

In the duration of five months, the main bank of Iceland was nationalized, government officials were forced to resign, the old government was liquidated, and a new government was put in its place. [Source]

The resolve of Iceland’s people to correct the systemic problems in their government and economy was again demonstrated in 2015 when dozens of high-level financial executives were jailed for their involvement in manipulating Iceland’s financial markets after financial deregulation in 2001.

After Iceland suffered a heavy hit in the 2008-2009 financial crisis, which famously resulted in convictions and jail terms for a number of top banking executives, the IMF now says the country has managed to achieve economic recovery—“without compromising its welfare model,” which includes universal healthcare and education. In fact, Iceland is on track to become the first European country that suffered in the financial meltdown to “surpass its pre-crisis peak of economic output”—essentially proving to the U.S. that bailing out “too big to fail” banks wasn’t the way to go. – Claire Bernish

After Brexit, a Trump Path to Victory

nationsPat Buchanan – Some of us have long predicted the breakup of the European Union. The Cousins appear to have just delivered the coup de grace.

While Scotland and Northern Ireland voted to remain in the EU, England voted for independence. These people, with their unique history, language and culture, want to write their own laws and rule themselves.

The English wish to remain who they are, and they do not want their country to become, in Theodore Roosevelt’s phrase, “a polyglot boarding house” for the world.

From patriots of all nations, congratulations are in order.

It will all begin to unravel now, over there, and soon over here.

Across Europe, tribalism, of all strains, is resurgent. Not only does the EU appear to be breaking up, countries appear about to break up.

Scotland will seek a second referendum to leave the U.K. The French National Front of Marine Le Pen and the Dutch Party for Freedom both want out of the EU. As Scots seek to secede from the U.K., Catalonia seeks to secede from Spain, Veneto from Italy, and Flemish nationalists from Belgium.

Ethnonationalism seems everywhere ascendant. Yet, looking back in history, is this not the way the world has been going for some centuries now?

The disintegration of the EU into its component nations would follow, as Vladimir Putin helpfully points out, the dissolution of the USSR into 15 nations, and the breakup of Yugoslavia into seven.

Czechoslovakia lately split in two. The Donbass seeks to secede from Ukraine. Is that so different from Transnistria splitting off from Romania, Abkhazia and South Ossetia seceding from Georgia, and Chechnya seeking separation from Russia?

After World War II came the disintegration of the French and British empires and birth of dozens of new nations in Africa, Asia and the Middle East. America returned the Philippine islands to their people.

The pressure on the slingshot of Mars’ retrograde is released today, ending its journey backward.  The time of Mars reworking how we use our time, energy, resources, and love ends at 7:40 pm ET/11:40 pm UT tonight.

The day a planet stations retrograde or direct is always “intensive.”  By definition, the energetic is changeable.  Courses and directions are changed.  The day is usually eventful, personally and collectively.  Things can get very “strange.”
