Donald Trump is the First President to Avoid Starting War

war policyLiberty Planet – As the November grows near, the Biden-Harris ticket drives messaging about a better, greener world for everyone, except police officers. And while President Donald Trump has amassed a record of success on the economy, equal opportunity, securing the Southern border, and trade agreements, it may be the silence surrounding his greatest non-accomplishment that Americans need to hear. Trump is the first president in decades to not get embroiled in a new foreign war.

If that seems counterintuitive, consider the last six administration and their willingness to put America’s sons and daughters in harm’s way:

Barack Obama/ Joe Biden (2009-2017): International intervention in Libya, U.S. intervention in the Second Libyan Civil War, War on ISIS, Yemeni Civil War, American-led intervention in Syria, and a second military effort in Iraq following the premature withdrawal of U.S. troops.

George W. Bush (2001-2009): War on Terror, includes invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq. No weapons of mass destruction found in Iraq.

Bill Clinton (1993-2001): Operation Infinite Reach in Sudan and Afghanistan, Kosovo War, Intervention in Haiti, Bosnian War, First U.S. Intervention in the Somali Civil War.

George H.W. Bush (1989-1993) Iraqi No-Fly Zone Enforcement Operations, Gulf War.

Ronald Reagan (1981-1989): Invasion of Panama, Tobruk encounter, Persian Gulf Tanker War, Bombing of Libya, Action in the Gulf of Sidra, Invasion of Grenada, Multinational Intervention in Lebanon.

Jimmy Carter (1977-1981): War in South Zaire.

The United States has reportedly been engaged in some level of war more than 90 percent of the time since the beginning of the American Revolution. Although none can truthfully be declared a “peacetime president,” President Trump quickly defeated ISIS and destroyed the terrorist’s caliphate.

Under Trump’s “annihilation” military policy, ISIS soldiers were killed on the battlefield or imprisoned. Only remnants managed to escape and are relegated to ongoing jihadist practices such as suicide bombing. Even those efforts have been greatly diminished since the ISIS state was defeated.

Despite heightened tensions with rogue regimes such as North Korea and Iran, President Trump has not set the country on a new war course since taking office. Democrats and the fake news media continue to claim that the Trump Administration’s foreign policy is reckless, and will brag the country into an unnecessary foreign war. The facts simply do not support those false narratives.

But the same cannot be said of Joe Biden, who was involved in the failed Middle East policies that led to the rise of ISIS. Those years of carnage left thousands of soldiers and civilians dead. So misguided are Biden’s foreign policy ideas that he bragged about withdrawing U.S. troops that handed ISIS tracts of land. And the former Democrat Defense Secretary he worked with at the White House recently denounced his decision-making.

“I think he’s been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades,” Robert Gates reportedly said. “I think that the vice president had some issues with the military.”

President Trump recently helped broker the first major Middle East peace deal in more than 50 years. Israel and the United Arab Emirates recently began full diplomatic ties. Other Muslim countries are expected to follow suit in a policy initiative that leverages the relationships developed by President Trump and Arab leaders. The fake news media has grown eerily silent about the growing peace and fact that Trump has kept his promise to steer clear of another war.
