Healthy weight loss shakes you can make at home

shakesNowadays many have awakened to the importance of living a healthy lifestyle. We’ve learned the central role that foods and liquids  play in our overall health and sense of well being.

The easiest way to care for our bodies is to pay attention to daily meals and not allow hard work, stress, or depression make us want to escape into fast food binges instead of what our body needs.

A healthy body doesn’t want to cart around extra weight. Extra weight is a recipe for health problems that can be easily avoided with a bit of self discipline and meal simplification. For example, you can replace a meal (or meals) with a weight loss shake that works well with your body type. These shakes are very popular today because they provide all required nutrients and assist with weight loss.

If you want the simplest solution you can find many ready-made diet program shakes. All you do is add the pre-mixed powder to milk or any other liquid.  Check out some quality diets in review here. Some of the programs reviewed are both effective and very easy to prepare.

If you’re not in a position to buy these powdered solutions you can make healthy shakes at home yourself. Here are a few.

1 – Chocolate & Banana Shake

This shake is both very tasty and easy to prepare.

4 oz. yogurt
8-11 almonds
1 banana (cut into chunks)
6 oz. milk
½ teaspoon cinnamon
2 oz. cooked quinoa, and
1 tablespoon cacao powder
2 ice cubes

Directions

♦ Gather all ingredients
♦ Place in an electric blender/mixer. Blend until smooth.

2 – Vegan Shake

To make this shake you need

1 banana
6 oz. silken tofu
1 teaspoon honey
8 oz. cashew or almond milk
2 oz. cooked oats, and
1 teaspoon vanilla

Mix all ingredients together in a mixer/blender and blend until smooth. Drinking this shake as a meal replacement daily is considered one of the fastest ways to thin down.

3 – Spinach Flax Shake

This shake has an interesting taste and is very nutritious.

Hand full spinach leaves
½ banana
1 tablespoon flax seeds
8 oz. unsweetened almond milk (or any other milk)
4 oz. mango chunks
1 tablespoon chia seeds
4 oz. pineapple bits
2 cubes ice

Blend all ingredients and consume immediately.

4 – Berry Shake

This berry drink is full of antioxidants and tastes delicious.

10 berries (blackberry, strawberry, raspberry, cape gooseberry, etc.)
2 oz. Water
1 tablespoon honey
4 oz. whipped cottage cheese, and
1 tablespoon chia seeds
2 cubes ice

Blend together and drink.

5 – Peanut Butter Shake

This creamy shake is filled with vitamins and nutrients.

18-20 green grapes
8 oz. yogurt
2 tablespoons peanut butter
4 oz. almond milk.

This has been found to be a very effective weight loss shake that works well for many people. Of course it’s not advised for people who are allergic to peanuts.

Of course we each have different tastes, which is why healthy shakes come in so many different varieties. It’s fun to try them all and then decide which one(s) you want to continue making. Done right these shakes will contribute to a healthy lifestyle and foster rapid weight loss as an added benefit.
