MSNBC Host Lying Through Her Teeth About Homophobic Blog Posts

Joy ReidRestore American Glory – This week, the watchdog site Mediate published a feature story about MSNBC host Joy Reid’s old blog and the many times she posted opinions and language on that blog that blurred the line between politically incorrect and downright homophobic. Reading through the old posts doesn’t particularly give us the chills – Reid is expressing fairly standard opinions, especially for 2006 – but oh boy, you can imagine how this hits the ear of the 2018 ultra-PC left, which has turned the LGBT cause into the Great Civil Rights battle of our lifetime.

Some examples:

Defending remarks NBA star Tim Hardaway made about playing basketball alongside gays, Reid wrote, “Keeping it real … most straight men feel exactly the same way, and would have the exact same reaction to the idea of stripping naked in a sweaty locker room in close quarters with a gay teammate. Most straight people cringe at the sight of two men kissing… Most straight people had a hard time being convinced to watch ‘Broke Back Mountain.’ (I admit that I couldn’t go see the movie either, despite my sister’s ringing endorsement, because I didn’t want to watch the two male characters having sex.) Does that make me homophobic? Probably.”

In another post, defending a Marine General who was in hot water for some perceived homophobic comments, Reid wrote: “Some people use the [word] ‘immoral’ when they really mean ‘distasteful’ — I think a lot of heterosexuals, especially men, find the idea of homosexual sex to be … well … gross, and they lump it in with immorality. And then there are the concerns that adult gay men tend to be attracted to very young, post-pubescent types, bringing them ‘into the lifestyle’ in a way that many people consider to be immoral.”

Ooh, you can’t talk that way about gays in 2018, and the left likes to pretend that everyone should have been on board the Rainbow Train as far back as the days of the Founding Fathers. So it is not surprising that Reid would choose to respond the way she did: By completely denying that she ever wrote any of these things.

“In December I learned that an unknown, external party accessed and manipulated material from my now-defunct blog, The Reid Report, to include offensive and hateful references that are fabricated and run counter to my personal beliefs and ideology,” she said in a statement to Mediaite. “Now that the site has been compromised I can state unequivocally that it does not represent the original entries. I hope that whoever corrupted the site recognizes the pain they have caused, not just to me, but to my family and communities that I care deeply about: LGBTQ, immigrants, people of color and other marginalized groups.”

Unfortunately, Reid wrote this statement without realizing that there is such a thing as the Internet Archives, which captured snapshots of her blog AT THE TIME it was written. And while Reid and her lawyer tried to get the “Wayback Machine” to remove those old entries, a spokesman for the site said he saw no cause to do so.

“When we reviewed the archives, we found nothing to indicate tampering or hacking of the Wayback Machine versions,” the site’s spokesman write. “At least some of the examples of allegedly fraudulent posts provided to us had been archived at different dates and by different entities. We let Reid’s lawyers know that the information provided was not sufficient for us to verify claims of manipulation.”

The only way Reid’s argument holds water is if some external third party hacked her site at the time and changed her posts without her finding out for the next 12 years. Perhaps that’s what happened.

Or perhaps she’s lying through her teeth to avoid the backlash coming her way like a gay tsunami.
