Media ignores Clinton Foundation investigation bombshell

clinton foundationHorn Editorial Team – U.S. Attorney John Durham’s investigation into the origin of the Russia probe has taken an unexpected twist — one that was largely ignored by the mainstream media.

As part of his investigation, Durham has taken over parts of U.S. Attorney John Huber’s probe of the Clinton Foundation funding that was started back in 2017 by then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

Lock her up? They still might.

The Clinton Foundation probe by Huber and other senior prosecutors were involving a number of potential conflict of interests inside the Clinton Foundation during former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s time in office, including the sale of Uranium One.

Critics called one of the issues “a $145 million bribe” paid by Russian interests to the Clinton Foundation while Hillary served on the Committee on Foreign Investments in the United States. Under Hillary’s guidance, the Obama administration later approved of the sale of Uranium One, which essentially handed control of 20 percent of U.S. strategic uranium deposits to Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

According to reports, the merger of Huber’s probe into Durham’s team allows federal investigators access to documents and formal interviews on how officials handled the Clinton Foundation investigation around the same time allegations of political corruption surfaced.

According to The New York Times, Durham and his team have said “that they are comparing the two investigations as well as examining whether investigators in the Russia inquiry flouted laws or policies. It was not clear whether Mr. Durham’s investigators were similarly looking for violations in the Clinton Foundation investigation, nor whether the comparison would be included or play a major role in the outcome of Mr. Durham’s inquiry.”

Durham’s move is considered highly unusual, and suggests that the scope of his investigation into the Russia probe origins has expanded significantly.

The widening investigation has Democratic lawmakers worried that President Donald Trump could capitalize on the findings politically. Trump has repeatedly claimed that the Obama administration attempted to sabotage his 2016 presidential campaign. It is not clear if Durham will conclude his investigation before the election.

So far, Durham’s investigation has produced just one criminal charge against a former FBI lawyer. The lawyer pleaded guilty to altering an email related to the surveillance of a former Trump campaign aide. The prosecution did not allege this lawyer was part of a broader conspiracy within the FBI.

The Clinton Foundation denied any wrongdoing in a statement, and called all allegations of wrongdoing false.

“The Clinton Foundation has regularly been subjected to baseless, politically motivated allegations, and time after time these allegations have been proven false,” the foundation said.
