Joseph P Farrell – Many people sent me versions of this story, so thank you to you all. However, I want to concentrate on one version of it – the version shared by W.G. (again, thank you) – because it illustrates the limitless ambitions to power and control that have infected most corners of the West. The story, quite simply, is that NATO is now talking openly of weaponizing the individual:

While the NATO-backed study insisted that much of its research on cognitive warfare is designed for defensive purposes, it also conceded that the military alliance is developing offensive tactics, stating, “The human is very often the main vulnerability and it should be acknowledged in order to protect NATO’s human capital but also to be able to benefit from our adversaries’s vulnerabilities.”

In a chilling disclosure, the report said explicitly that “the objective of Cognitive Warfare is to harm societies and not only the military.”

With entire civilian populations in NATO’s crosshairs, the report emphasized that Western militaries must work more closely with academia to weaponize social sciences and human sciences and help the alliance develop its cognitive warfare capacities.

The study described this phenomenon as “the militarization of brain science.” But it appears clear that NATO’s development of cognitive warfare will lead to a militarization of all aspects of human society and psychology, from the most intimate of social relationships to the mind itself.

Such all-encompassing militarization of society is reflected in the paranoid tone of the NATO-sponsored report, which warned of “an embedded fifth column, where everyone, unbeknownst to him or her, is behaving according to the plans of one of our competitors.” The study makes it clear that those “competitors” purportedly exploiting the consciousness of Western dissidents are China and Russia.

In other words, this document shows that figures in the NATO military cartel increasingly see their own domestic population as a threat, fearing civilians to be potential Chinese or Russian sleeper cells, dastardly “fifth columns” that challenge the stability of “Western liberal democracies.” (Boldface emphasis added)

Now, I don’t know about you, but it seems to me that Western “democracies” are doing a pretty good job all on their own of undermining their own stability. The covid planscamdemic has certainly helped in that process, but it was long underway before the planscamdemic came along.

Consider only President* Bidenenko: is it mere dementia and incompetence that is creating the current instability, or – applying NATO’s own template – is his whole regime a “sleeper cell” of Communist Chinese and Russian influence? Well, given the ties of some of his family to China, a case could be argued for the latter.

In any case, NATO’s “philosophy” is very clear, and it makes two assumptions that, in my opinion, will ultimately prove fatal to its project: (1) that human beings are “capital” and “resources” to be spent and used to support the power of its elite, and (2) that the brain and the mind are the same thing. In short, its a wholly materialistic world view, with all the narcissism and nihilism that implies.

In the second case, NATO is gambling and in doing so, taking a huge risk, for if the brain and the mind are not the same thing, then there is an aspect of the mind that always transcends mere physiology, and the technological means of manipulating it. Similarly, if  humans are not merely “resources” and “capital” to be manipulated and exploited, then any strictly materialistic society as NATO might try to build is doomed to collapse and failure…

… rather like the Soviet Union and former Warsaw Pact countries.

NATO’s vision is essentially nihilistic and (for its elite) narcissistic; it’s a war of everything against everything, and hence, destructive even of itself.

It will fail, and fail miserably. But in the meantime, it has now made itself a target of the very same techniques it purports to use.

Or as I’ve said often before, two (or more) can play the covert ops game.
