Eric Holder Worried That Congressional Oversight is Hurting Mueller :-)

republicansRestore American Glory – Eric Holder, who made a name for himself as one of the most disgraceful, untethered-to-the-law men to ever hold the top position at the Justice Department, is apparently getting really nervous about what House Republicans might find in their investigation of the DOJ and the FBI. Holder, who is still in close contact with his former boss, Barack Obama, took to Twitter on Friday to demand that “unprincipled” Republicans immediately stop looking into the evidence that shows the Obama DOJ abused the FISA system and illegally spied on the Trump campaign during the 2016 election.

Gee, you think Holder’s a little bit afraid of what might be coming out of this investigation? You think his pal Obama is a wee bit concerned that Republicans are going to figure out who gave the FBI their marching orders? Hmm…

Holder’s warning comes as House lawmakers are turning up the heat on Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and FBI Director Christopher Wray. Angry at the continued obstruction by Rosenstein and the inability of the Department to provide witnesses who will answer questions in full, Republicans are now demanding one of two things: Either end the Mueller investigation immediately or start cooperating with Congress.

If Rosenstein ignores both, we could see some serious Washington fireworks over the summer. Republicans (and the American people) have had it.

On Thursday, Republicans passed a resolution in the House that gives Rosenstein exactly seven days to turn over classified documents regarding the Trump/Russia probe. This was a day after GOP lawmakers grilled disgraced FBI agent Peter Strzok for ten hours in a closed-door hearing, during which Strzok was apparently told by FBI counsel not to answer any questions about the origin of the “Crossfire Hurricane” investigation. It was yet another example of how desperate the DOJ is to hide the truth about what it was, exactly, that caused them to begin investigating the Trump campaign in the first place.

Every time Republicans get closer to this truth, Democrats start falling apart. In an effort to confuse the public about a very simple, constitutional fact – that Congress has the right and responsibility to exercise oversight in regards to the Department of Justice and the rest of the Executive Branch – they accuse Republicans of trying to thwart justice and run interference for President Trump. Almost as if they are colluding with the Justice Department in an effort to keep information away from the American people…

“The unprecedented disclosure of ongoing investigative material, FISA and national security documents to the complicit and unprincipled House Republicans sets a dangerous precedent and impacts the Mueller inquiry,” wrote Holder. “It must stop. Lines have the be drawn.”

Um, well if the “line” has to be drawn, then we’ll draw it in such a way that Congress’s constitutional duties are preserved, regardless of what impact it has on the Mueller witch hunt. It’s still not even clear if Mueller’s appointment is constitutional, much less integral to our system of government. If one or the other has to go, Mueller’s investigation or Congress’s oversight, well, we’ll see you when your book tour begins, Mr. Mueller.
