Rep. Lee Zeldin announces run for New York governor: ‘Cuomo’s gotta go!’

zeldinAnnaliese Levy – Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-N.Y.) announced Thursday he’s running for governor of New York in 2022 against current Governor Andrew Cuomo, saying it’s time for Cuomo to “immediately exit stage left.”

Zeldin, a longtime GOP congressman and friend of the Trump family, will be the first Republican to launch a campaign against three-term Gov. Cuomo in 2022.

“I’ll bring the kind of relentless, fighting spirit towards helping to save our state that Cuomo reserves for multi-million dollar self-congratulatory book deals, cover-ups, abuse & self-dealing,” Zeldin said Thursday. Continue reading

In ancient Rome, slaves rode behind conquerors whispering in their ears “memento mori” — you are mortal — meaning that both fame and you die. You need not go that far back in time to see the truth of these warnings. Just consider the rise and fall of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.

In this case we can see why he rose to such fame. Why he’s being attacked right now has several explanations. As I detail, I think it’s because others with the same greed for power and fame in his own ranks are vying for the same unearned glory he once held.

NY Officials slam Gov. Cuomo for singling out Jews in new COVID-19 orders

orthodox JewsJennie Taer – A group of four New York officials sent a letter Tuesday condemning the State’s Governor Andrew Cuomo for singling out the Orthodox Jewish community in his renewed lockdown orders amid a surge in COVID-19 cases.

State Senator Simcha Felder, State Assemblyman Simcha Eichenstein, City Councilman Kalman Yeger, and City Councilman Chaim Deutsch all signed onto the letter and said they’re “appalled by Governor Cuomo’s words and actions.”

“He [Gov. Cuomo] has chosen to pursue a scientifically and constitutionally questionable shutdown of our communities,” the officials wrote. “His administration’s utter lack of coordination and communication with local officials has been an ongoing issue since the start of the pandemic, and particularly recently as we face this uptick.” Continue reading
