This lunar phase of Sun and Moon in opposition may show us more clearly the state of our relationships of all kinds, and also in this instance invites us into a more keen awareness of the unconscious patterns that prevent us from deeper connection.

It is important to note that we are offered as well profound opportunities to help us heal and shift these patterns. This is due to a powerful presence in this Full Moon configuration of Chiron, the Wounded Healer, opposed to Venus, which is also emphasized. Use the aggressive quality of this full moon to take that courageous action and to release some pattern, habit, person, job, routine, attitude, belief, identity, history, object, resentment, resistance, anger, shame, or disappointment. If it is ready to be released, the emotional pain will not last long in the wake of a tremendous freedom of thought, creativity and inspiration as you look forward.

You may need to take some personal alone time to process a big release as the people around you may be just as attached to your attachments as you are. It is best not to take things personally as the reactions of others are probably projections of their own resistance.

Nikki Harper – The Full Moon on October 13^th will be visible all night long, across the world. It will rise around sunset which may give it an orange tinge ranging from subtle to intense, depending on air conditions. It may also appear larger than normal, although this is an optical illusion. Known as the Hunter’s Moon, this Full Moon was traditionally believed by native tribes to mark the period during which they would focus on hunting game to store for the winter ahead.

The Hunter’s Moon is in Aries, opposite the Libra Sun. An Aries Full Moon is always full-on in energy, assertive, bold and sometimes aggressive. This particular Full Moon has two strong astrological aspects associated with it, a square to Pluto and a trine to Jupiter. Continue reading →
