lost hikersNick Gilbertson – A Hawaiian boy scout helped save a lost couple and their dog while hiking over the Summer and is now being lauded for his savvy thinking.

Twelve-year-old David King and his mother Christine were hiking the Waimano Trail above Pearl City in August, KHON reports. David was working to earn a Boy Scout Merit Badge on the 15-mile hike.

In their travels on August 29, they came across a lost couple. JD and Aimee were with their injured 100-pound Pitbull “Smokey,” who had cuts on his feet and was unable to walk, the outlet reported. Continue reading

Almost 90,000 Sex Abuse Claims Filed In Boy Scouts Bankruptcy Case

pedophiliaNiamh Harris – Almost 90,000 sexual abuse claims have been filed against the Boy Scouts of America as the Monday deadline arrived for submitting claims in the organization’s bankruptcy case.

The number far exceeds the initial projections of lawyers across the US who have been signing up clients since the Boy Scouts filed for bankruptcy protection in February following hundreds of lawsuits alleging decades-old sex abuse by Scout leaders.

Paul Mones, a lawyer who has been working on Boy Scouts cases for nearly two decades, told AFP: “It’s by far the largest sexual abuse scandal in the U.S.,” He added that scouting has long offered a “perfect petri dish” for pedophiles: “boys have taken an oath of loyalty, they are away from their parents, in the wilderness.” Continue reading

Boy Scouts Labeled as “the Largest Pedophile Ring on Earth”: At Least 7,800 of Their Former Leaders Were Involved in Sexually Abusing Children

True Activist – Earlier this month, the Boy Scouts of America has referred over 120 abuse allegations by their scout leaders to the police for further investigation. They said that they believe all their victims and that the organization is doing all they can to identify “additional alleged perpetrators.”

The organization came out with a statement after a lawsuit was filed in Pennsylvania that accused one of the scout leaders from that state of committing “unspeakable acts of sexual abuse” to one of the boy scouts on camping trips, and even during daytime excursions. Continue reading

Boy Scouts Lost 425,000 Boys In One Week

One week after the century-old Boy Scouts of America announced it was changing its name and its mission to accept girls [and transgender boys] at all levels of scouting, its single biggest participant announced Tuesday that it was cutting ties to the Scouts.

And taking one-fifth of the Scouts membership with it.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, usually known as the Mormons, announced on May 8 that it was severing its relationship with the Scouts effective Dec. 31, 2019, according to the Salt Lake Tribune. Continue reading
