8-Year-Old Raises Nearly 90k to Help Waffle House ServerMichael Foster – An eight-year-old Arkansas boy helped raise tens of thousands of dollars for his favorite Waffle House server after finding out the man lived in a motel room with his family.

Kayzen Hunter, 8, often dines at a Waffle House restaurant in Little Rock, Arkansas. That’s where he met a friendly server named Devonte Gardner, THV 11 reported.

“I come with a positive attitude. I treat everybody with positivity. I love to see everybody smile,” Gardner explained to the outlet. Continue reading

According to GivingUSA.org Americans set a record in giving in 2017 due to a booming stock market and a strong economy.  All together Americans gave an estimated $410.02 billion in 2017, according to Giving USA 2018: The Annual Report on Philanthropy for the Year 2017.

Retired Sunnyside couple rebuilds bikes for poor

Bike ShopsDonna and Jerry Creamer were volunteering at the Flagstaff Family Food Center in 2008 when they were struck by a repeated problem: Some of the unemployed couldn’t get to potential jobs offered at night and early morning.

Public buses didn’t run at all hours.

So Jerry found a couple of bikes at a local thrift store, bought them for $6 and $8, and gave them to a couple of local homeless men.

“They told a whole bunch of guys, who started asking: If they could find a bike, would Jerry fix it for them?” Donna said.

So began the Sunnyside Bike Shed, a charity operated by a retired truck mechanic and a retired pharmacy technician out of their Sunnyside apartment.
