DOJ Announces Charges Of 50 In College Admissions Scandal, Including 2 Television Actresses

collegeTim Brown – The Department of Justice announced on Tuesday that 50 people were indicted in a scheme that involved paying bribes to top universities to have their children admitted to the schools.  Among those charged are two television actresses:  Lori Loughlin of Full House fame and When Calls The Heart, and Felicity Huffman, wife of actor William Macy and actress in the TV series Desperate Housewives.

Among the schools named were Georgetown, Stanford, Wake Forest University, UCLA and Yale.  The students gained entrance to the schools as athletes regardless of athletic ability or by having their college entrance exam test scores inflated.

Most of the parents forked out between $250,000 and $400,000.  However, some paid as much as $6.5 million! Continue reading
