Is the 2024 Election the Last Gasp for America?

Brian C. Joondeph, M.D. – Monty Python’s 1979 hit movie “Life of Brian” featured a song about optimism:

Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse
When you’re chewing on life’s gristle
Don’t grumble, give a whistle
And this’ll help things turn out for the best
Always look on the bright side of life

One might apply this to politics and current events.

Are you optimistic that America is just in a phase that we will get through, that things will soon return to normal, or we don’t grumble and just give a whistle? Continue reading

Is Two-Tiered ‘Justice’ Intended to Incite Rebellion?

Two-Tiered 'Justice' Intended to Incite RebellionJ. B. Shurk – John and Nisha Whitehead over at The Rutherford Institute always write compelling essays documenting America’s descent toward tyranny.  “A State of Martial Law: America Is a Military Dictatorship Disguised as a Democracy” is no exception and deserves reading.

In that essay, the legal duo reminded me of something John Lennon once warned: “When it gets down to having to use violence, then you are playing the system’s game.  The establishment will irritate you — pull your beard, flick your face — to make you fight.  Because once they’ve got you violent, then they know how to handle you.” Continue reading

The Countdown of Good vs. Evil

The Countdown of Good vs. EvilRon Wright – America is at a tipping point.  Will we continue the downward spiral into a fascist third-world dictatorship?  Can we change course back to a constitutional republic that values the free will of men and women, freedom of speech and assembly, the rule of law, and equal justice?

Already in the descent to an authoritarian state, free speech is suppressed and thought is censored and replaced by Orwellian New Speak enforced by the thought police.  The free press is transformed into shameless state-run propaganda outlets that run the approved false narrative of the day (here)(here)(here)(here).  The state takes guns away under the guise of public safety.  The thought enforcers of the state supersede local control of the police.  Scapegoats are created. Act Blue: The Real Coup

Act Blue: The Real CoupBrooks Agnew – Nobody really knew who James O’Keefe was back in 2009, but when he and an associate went around the country catching employees at ACORN offices on video helping out with what turned out to be a hypothetical scam involving a pimp who was setting up a brothel full of underaged girls and the products of those exploits were tumbling onto the pages of Andrew Breitbart’s then-new site Big Government, O’Keefe got very famous very fast.

Since then, he’s been one of the most active conservative media figures in America, pumping out investigative journalism in a fire-hose stream. Not everything has worked out, as one might imagine — when O’Keefe and his team tried a more satirical video chiding then-Sen. Mary Landrieu’s office staff for their refusal to answer their phones following Landrieu’s Obamacare vote, the senator’s allies went after him and ultimately got him enmeshed in a federal criminal prosecution for supposedly “wiretapping” her office, something he didn’t do. ‘DeSantis Is Trump Without the Baggage’ (Huh?)

The ‘DeSantis Is Trump Without the Baggage’ Crowd is in for a Rude AwakeningMatt Kane – Since President Trump left office, many of the “trustworthy” media outlets have created a talking point that is now held by a minority, yet noticeable number of Conservative Americans.  The belief is “DeSantis is Trump, without the baggage.”

This group supported President Trump’s policies and felt he did a tremendous job as president, but now feel the baggage that came with Trump would not be present with Ron DeSantis.  Many have taken this a step further and believe this baggage would give DeSantis (or others) a better chance of winning in a general election against the Democrat nominee than President Trump.
