Timothy Wulff – A favorite quote of mine is from Kierkegaard: “In an infinite and incomprehensible universe, it is not a question of whether faith, but rather, faith in what.” This brief sentence has had an enormous impact on me over the years and produced a startling effect on my views.

The Awesome Power Of The Mystery Meme

memeOwen K Waters – In The Future of the Human Race Revealed, we listed the memes of social progression which have been identified so far in the book, Spiral Dynamics. The characteristics of the first tier of six memes (patterns of thought) are:

1. Basic, personal survival.
2. Clan survival.
3. Courage, survival of the fittest.
4. Finding order and purpose in life.
5. Achievement, striving to succeed.
6. Community and caring.

Then, a momentous leap into the second, spiritual tier of six memes began with leading-edge thinkers in the 1950s, then mushroomed into popularity in the mid-1960s. Since then, enough people have made the shift into the second tier to enable two of its memes to be identified and analyzed:

7. Responsible freedom.
8. Holistic, global village view.

As of the 1990s, the authors of Spiral Dynamics have also identified the existence of the next meme in the progression. This ninth meme has not yet been observed in large quantities of people, so they have been unable to summarize its characteristics at this point.

Using basic metaphysical principles, however, you can predict exactly what it will become. Also, second tier memes are reminiscent of their first tier cousins. Meme number nine, being the third meme within the second tier of six, will become an enlightened version of the original meme number three, which is courage. Continue reading →

The Perfect Illusion

Zemanta Related Posts ThumbnailOne of the greatest lies ever invented in our society is that we are separate and alone.  Though we live in a world with billions of people, we tend to accept this belief.  In doing so, we engender and even enable a reality of separatism and loneliness.  We may believe that this is what gives us our strength, our purpose and will lead to our destiny.  We allow ourselves to become devoted to this belief, even with our spouses, our children and our family.

Such is the paradigm of the “reality” in which we have been programmed and conditioned to live our lives.  It is the realism of life that has become more of an oppression and less of a liberty.  We have become dependent upon the very lifestyle many of us condemn.  Sure, we may wake up once in a while make some noise in our frustrations of how things are and how we don’t seem to have any control over them.  Yet, after the anger and upset subsides and the daily distractions kick in, we search for the artificial security blanket that our authoritarian society is more than eager to provide.

We hand over our personal power because we simply do not know what to do with it or how to be it.  We are terrified at the notion of experiencing it, let alone living it.  We entrust it to people, organizations and things that we believe (hope and pray) will protect and provide for us.  All the while running a racket of self-distraction with our denial, egotism and our self-imposed victimization.  These are the delusions of our daily experience.  The most effective illusions are the ones we accept and adopt as our way of life which inevitably becomes our reality.

Shift Frequency June 16 2013

The Latin word integro, integrare, is a first conjugation verb. It was originally a smelting term.

The concept was to make one from many by melting and fusing together in the fire.
One would take the ores required for metals and heat them to great temperature sufficient to burn away the impurities and cause the false ash to fall away from the now bonded, fused molten metal remaining from the ores.
I have always marveled at the parallel in meaning between the use of this word and our own internal process of maturation and the manner in which this process reflects the true purpose for our presence here in life, the sacred nature of our path and the core essence of the importance of the power of choice.
Concomitant with the concept of choice, is the necessity of the capacity of forgiveness, for with each error we commit, forgiveness is an essential response in our capacities or we shall become trapped in condemnation, judgment, retribution and punishment whether self or other generated and inflicted.
