Whistle-Blowing Clinicians Demand An End To Transgender ‘Experiment On Children’

ChildrenNiamh Harris – Five members of staff from Britain’s only NHS gender clinic for children have quit over fears children as young as three are going through unnecessary gender reassignment treatment.

Clinicians from the Gender Identity Development Service (GIDS)
warn that the clinic is risking a “live experiment” by sending hundreds of children for life-changing medical intervention without sufficient evidence of its long-term effects.

Harvey Weinstein Charged With Rape & Sex Abuse

WeinsteinNiamh Harris Harvey Weinstein has been charged with rape, sex abuse and other sexual offences against two women.

The disgraced movie producer handed himself in to the New York police department on Friday.

Weinstein, who has previously denied all accusations, was charged with four offences, following months of sexual abuse allegations.

A statement from the NYPD said Mr Weinstein “was arrested, processed and charged with rape, criminal sex act, sex abuse and sexual misconduct for incidents involving two separate women”.

More than 70 women have  publicly accused the film producer of sexual misconduct, including rape.

The Telegraph reports: Weinstein, 66, arrived at the NYPD 1st precinct, in the TriBeCa district of Manhattan, at 7:20am, walking through a thick scrum of photographers and reporters held back by metal barriers. Continue reading

Church of England Facing Over 3,000 Sex Abuse Complaints

sex abuseNiamh Harris – The Church of England now faces more than 3,000 sex abuse complaints all involving children, young people or vulnerable adults.

At the end of 2016, the total number of ‘concerns or allegations’ had reached 3,300.

The Mail Online reports:

The figures do not distinguish new complaints from longstanding ones, but almost all involved the treatment of children, young people or vulnerable adults. If even a proportion were upheld the Church would have to pay millions in compensation.

One recent compensation payment in an unproven and heavily-disputed case of abuse alleged against long-dead Bishop of Chichester George Bell amounted to £15,000. Matching that sum in every complaint now facing the Church would cost almost £50 million. Continue reading
