Andrew Walker discusses technology – positives and negatives [Video]

Andrew Walker was a tech entrepreneur but is uneasy being referred to like that. He believes in the Internet of Things and the power of technology to provide more time for humans to be well… human but he has not been swept up by tech utopia.

In this episode of Meet the Renegades he talks about where next for the internet, how entrepreneurship has been hijacked and who is ripe for the next wave of disruption.

Gillian’s comment – There are some very troubling concepts discussed in this video – concepts that suggest an AI-consumptive society where current societal and economic models no longer apply.  Mentioning the communist Marx and his proletariat revolution Walker says “We no longer predict revolution. We predict irrelevance. Y’know, in the same way that Blockbuster Video and record stores became irrelevant we’re going to see an increasing number of things we take for granted become irrelevant.”

Hmmmm . . .
