FBI, CIA crimes under Obama against Trump will come out

trumpA powerful House Republican says President Obama’s FBI and CIA committed “severe, serious abuses” against then-presidential candidate Donald Trump that soon will be exposed.

Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., told John Catsimatidis of New York City’s AM 970 “The Answer” that the Obama administration had no legal basis to probe the Trump campaign, The Hill reported.

“There is no doubt to me there was severe, serious abuses that were carried out in the FBI and, I believe, top levels of the CIA against the president of the United States or, at that time, presidential candidate Donald Trump,” King said.

“There was no legal basis at all for them to begin this investigation of his campaign – and the way they carried it forward, and the way information was leaked,” he added.

Attorney General William Barr now is investigating what triggered the Democrats’ Russia investigation, which led to a special counsel probe that found no evidence of Trump collusion with Russia.

Instead, House Republicans discovered the Russia-collusion allegations were fueled in part by an anti-Trump dossier of unverified Russian sources funded by the Hillary Clinton campaign. The document, mostly debunked by Robert Mueller’s special counsel probe, was used by the Obama FBI and Justice Department to obtain warrants to spy on the Trump campaign.

Stephen E. Boyd, assistant attorney general for the Justice Department’s Office of Legislative Affairs, recently confirmed that the review of the origins of the Russia investigation is “broad” and “multifaceted.”

Barr told a congressional committee he believes the Obama administration spied on the Trump campaign in 2016.

He said the only question is whether or not the surveillance was justified.

King said the review will show that Obama administration officials acted improperly.

“All of this is going to come out. It’s going to show the bias. It’s going to show the baselessness of the investigation, and how dangerous it is to democracy. I would say the same thing if this were done to Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders,” he said.

King said the media also must share the blame, since reporters repeatedly suggested that Trump himself was working for Russia.

“The media was an accessory to this,” King said. “The media went along with this – actually, keeping this farcical, ridiculous thought going that the president of the United States… was somehow involved in a conspiracy with Russia against his own country.”

Fox News reported Democrats insist they did nothing wrong in using Hillary Clinton’s opposition research document, which was compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele.

Fox News also reported it has learned that “key witnesses” now have come forward in the investigation.

“Sources familiar with the matter said at least one witness outside the Justice Department and FBI started cooperating – a breakthrough that came after Attorney General William Barr ordered U.S. Attorney John Durham to lead a separate investigation into the origins of the bureau’s 2016 Russia case that laid the foundation for Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe,” the report said.

King said the misbehavior was widespread.

“Just from evidence I’ve seen over the last several years being on the Intelligence Committee, being a member of Congress, there’s no doubt to me there were severe serious abuses that were carried out in the FBI, and I believe the top levels of the CIA,” he said.

Obama’s CIA director, John Brennan, repeatedly charged “that Trump was virtually Putin’s lackey.”

He’s had to revise his statements.

Talk-radio host Rush Limbaugh said after Mueller concluded their was no collusion: “The next obvious question, what the hell was this, then? Why was this done? Why was this investigation launched? Who did that, why, and when? You mean, after 40 FBI agents, over two years, $30 million, 19 Hillary-loving lawyers on Mueller’s team, and nothing?”
