Congress Should Worry More About What Happens After We Build the Wall

wallMark Patricks – A couple of weeks ago we would have given optimistic 51/49 odds that President Trump is getting the wall built. The media, the Democrats and Congress still haven’t figured out that for those of us on America’s side, it’s really not about Trump. If Trump fails to deliver on the wall, that will be really sad… because next time we will elect Hitler if that’s what it takes to save our country from the foreign invading hordes.

Today, the wall is a done deal. It’s getting built. Pelosi and Schumer own the shutdown and even Cher is begging for relief and telling them to give Trump the money. What Congress really needs to worry about at this point is what happens after we get the wall.

First, there’s been a lot of stupidity on the airwaves when it comes to what President Trump has authority to do if he declares a national emergency. No one was worse at this than Never-Trump Judge Napolitano on Fox News. Napolitano stated that in his analysis of the law, Trump can’t spend funds on the wall in the event of a national emergency unless Congress has appropriated the funds for the wall.

Pro Tip: If you need a lawyer for any reason at all, any random ambulance chaser on talk radio commercials will probably give you better legal advice than Napolitano.

Unfortunately for Judge Naptime, the law doesn’t function based on wild guesses of what we think it says. Laws are written down so that, in most circumstances, ordinary people without law degrees can still read them and understand the gist of them. Here’s the plain text of what 10 U.S. Code § 2808 – which gives the president construction authority in the event of a national emergency – actually says, with portions bolded for emphasis:

In the event of a declaration of war or the declaration by the President of a national emergency… that requires use of the armed forces, the Secretary of Defense, without regard to any other provision of law, may undertake military construction projects, and may authorize the Secretaries of the military departments to undertake military construction projects, not otherwise authorized by law that are necessary to support such use of the armed forces. Such projects may be undertaken only within the total amount of funds that have been appropriated for military construction, including funds appropriated for family housing, that have not been obligated.

In a nutshell, Trump can redirect military funds already appropriated for military construction projects to build the wall. No authorization from Congress is required. And that’s just one option at the president’s disposal to build the wall. As others have noted, he can redirect foreign aid relief funds, such as the money Congress appropriated for Puerto Rico, to pay for the wall as well.

If anyone in Congress or the media wants to complain about this… okay, who are we kidding? When Congress and the media complains about this, well, that’s too bad. They can whine and complain about “this imperial dictatorship presidency” all they want to. We don’t care. And the reason why we don’t care is two-fold: A) We the people have been asking for a wall on the border with our dysfunctional southern neighbors for more than 100 years now, and B) none of the complainers today uttered a peep for eight years when Obama did the exact same thing.

Obama sent well over a billion dollars in cash to the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, even as his own brother Roy Obama was serving as the Chief Financial Officer for the international terrorist organization. We don’t even know how much money Obama and Crooked Hillary spent running guns through Benghazi to Boko Haram in Nigeria, Al Shabaab in Somalia and Al Qaeda in Syria, Mali and Centrafique. And then, Obama sent another huge pallet of cash to the mullahs in Iran as part of his nuclear deal.

Nobody in Congress stood up for eight years and said, “Hey, wait a minute! Where did these huge pallets of cash come from? We didn’t authorize that!”

Obama took money from other things to pay off his terrorist buddies and his own extended family and he did it multiple times. So, to reiterate true Americans’ position on President Trump taking already-appropriated funds for something else to pay for the wall:

We. Don’t. Care.

Or, if you’d prefer it in a Twitter hashtag: #WeDontCareShutUp

Suck it up, buttercup, because the wall is getting built. Period.

And Congress really does need to start focusing on what happens after we build the wall. The reason why is because there is a global movement under way against globalism. What the globalists in the media and Congress still don’t seem to understand is that most of us outside of Washington, DC who are actual Americans – as opposed to fake foreign “Americans” who have a piece of paper declaring their citizenship – is that we are seething with rage at what’s been done to our country.

We are mad as hell, which is why Donald Trump is in office instead of Crooked Hillary or one of the establishment Republicans (With Ted Cruz probably being the one exception to that. Maybe.). Congress needs to understand that many Americans right now are one or two bad federal decisions away from putting on our own Yellow Jackets and yanking the whole corrupt system down. We get censored on social media for our views while our opponents have free speech. Really? How much longer do you think Americans are really going to tolerate that, Congress?

The thing that Congress really needs to understand is that once the wall goes up, we’re not stopping. We already know that most illegals in the country are visa overstays. Guess what, Congress? That’s next and we’re demanding that it be fixed. We won’t settle for any more empty promises. We demand results. We want our country back.

And once the wall goes up, the foreign ringers they keep bringing in to steal our elections out from under us won’t be able to call in any more reinforcements.

The wall also means that once ICE deports an illegal, they never get back in. Once the wall is up, it’s about to get really interesting. We’ve got our popcorn ready. And if that fails, we’ve got our Yellow Vests and the Second Amendment.
