The Root Of Better Health May All Be In Your Head

Better Health

Most people believe food is the cornerstone of health. We suggest that you study how to connect the mind as well. The internet has a wealth of information on the subject. The brain releases chemicals that will damage your health. This happens when we’re under stress.

Challenges for certain people

We’ll preface this article by saying that there are certain people with challenging careers. Their brain is trained to look for negative issues as a matter of life and death. One example is EMT jobs. There is constant stress when trying to help or revive a person. The job is so necessary and so demanding. The process we explain here may take a bit more work than that of others. However, we have complete confidence in these people and their healing.

Cortisol is the hormone that causes belly fat. Dieting will not prevent this type of weight gain. Most people experience this area being the toughest to reduce. Headaches and migraines are spawned by hormones. Skin conditions appear from the same cause. The good news is that we can combat these situations. Knowing the underlying cause is the first step.

Steps to begin a mind-body routine

1. Study yourself first. Resolute honesty in how you think is essential. Don’t be afraid of what you need to change; change can start the journey to better health. This is done through a positive mind.

2. List all the discoveries you made about yourself. Create two columns. On one side, list the best quality thoughts you have. One the other side, list the worst thoughts. Begin with the first low-quality impression on your mind. Ask yourself a few questions about it. When did you start thinking this thought? Why is this thought a habit? Repeat the process until the list is completed.

3. Now comes the fun part. Take the list of negatives. Study how to do the opposite. Anything you’re having a hard time healing with must have your focus. Conquering the most challenging aspect is done first. Everything left on the list should be a cakewalk.

4. Dealing with negative thought issues is not where the task ends. Maintenance is the key to consistency. The problem is that the brain will still be scanning for negative conclusions in new ways. This is normal for humans. Study ways to create new habits that train you to look for positive thoughts. Here’s an explanation of how neural plasticity works.

What is neural plasticity?

Simply put, neural plasticity is the process of creating new brain cell connections. These cells carry specific programming that encourages certain behaviors. People can train the brain to program new cell pathways that encourage better thoughts.

How to train neural pathways

Training these brain cells is challenging but not impossible. Habit is what the brain pays attention to. Develop the opposite habit to what’s on your negative thought list. The process must be consistent for at least 30 days. As a beginner, give yourself 90 days. Slipping back into bad habits is normal. Giving yourself more time ensures less discouragement.

How to structure your plan

Structuring your plan is easier than you may think. Executing it consistently is the challenge. Make it a priority to catch yourself repeating negative thinking patterns. Train your ears to hear your responses to events. The ability to change a thought pattern in an instant becomes easier in time. Adopt a buddy to help catch you when you slip back. A family member or best friend can assist you in achieving success. Explain to them what you want to master. Let them know you won’t be insulted for correcting you. They may learn something themselves. It’s always best to have others involved. It can be a bonding experience.

Tracking the process and reflecting weekly is a prudent move. A journal is the best choice for gauging progress. Write the negative thoughts you typically have in one column. Write real-time negative thoughts you had during the day. Compare the two. You’ll see where you’ve improved and where you need work.

Realize that changing brain chemistry is a process. There’s no judgment to how it turns out or how fast it takes. Working on yourself feels good. Keep with it and rewards will follow.
